Welcome to the St Clements Univeristy - Somalia
St Clements University was established in the Republic of Somalia in 2006.
At that stage the Islamic Courts were in charge of Mogadishu and the Transitional Federal Government of the Republic of Somalia was based in Baidoa. It offered a range of programs in particular the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programs to where ever DHL could transfer the textbooks to.
Dr Jamal Mohamed Barrow became the manager of St Clements University in Somalia.
Programs were taught to people outside of Somalia to pay for the costs of teaching our Somalia students.
In 2007 The Ministry of Culture & Higher Education re confirmed St Clements University's rights to award Bachelor , Master and Doctorate degrees.
In 2013 the Minister for Human Development & Public Services re commissioned St Clements University - Somalia.
In 2013 it was issued a Registration Certificate by the Directorate of Education, Culture & Higher Education.
Dr Jamal Mohamed Barrow our Chief Executive Officer was appointed Ambassador to South Africa and then to Nigeria.
Professor Dr Mohamed Eno who was a founding member of St Clements University - Somalia Management Council then become the chief Executive Officer.
The Ministry of Culture & Higher Education of Somalia has been accrediting institutions in Somalia based on them being campus based.
St Clements University - Somalia has always been a distance learning educational institution. It will be offering degree programs based on students studying a United Kingdom OFQUAL qualification integrated into it.
SCPU a higher education centre in the Swiss Canton of Vaud is an ATHE (OFQUAL registered) training Centre and St Clements University Somalia programs will be supervised via this institution to enable students to have their degree to fit within the United Kingdom education system.
Initially St Clements University - Somalia will offer a Scholarship for students who wish to complete an Associate degree to join the final year of a Bachelor or Masters degree from a United Kingdom University.
Having been operational in Somalia for over 19 years during very turbulent times we would like to help Somalia particularly working adults to upgrade their management and other knowledge skills as Somalia moves forward.
On the 17th of August 2024, the Ministry Education, Culture and Higher Education from the Southwest State of Somalia registered St Clements University - Somalia.
This registration is endorsed by the Federal Government of Somalia.
